One day about 4 months ago I saw a co-worker that I had not seen in several moths and noticed she had lost a lot of weight. As we talked she told me how she did it with Fitness Together. Her comment of, "It's the best thing I have ever done for myself," stuck with me. Over the years I had not been able to find a routine that consistently worked for me to keep my weight down. So I spontaneously contacted a nearby Fitness Together location. They suggested that I come in for a free fitness consultation. Little did I know, that day was the first day for a huge change in my life. They explained how their program works - a combination of workouts, healthy diet and accountability. We outlined my goals and a general program. I now do a workout session with them 3 times a week, and run 3 days a week. I keep a journal of what I eat. They review my journal with me and help me make better choices in food type as well as portion size; as a result I give a lot more consideration to what I eat! I did everything they asked me to do and lost 20 pounds in 14 weeks.
It has been great for me. I have been surprised that I love going to the workout sessions. It's not just an exercise program to me; it's also a very personal relationship with a group of individuals that has helped me find a healthy lifestyle while having dun doing it. And the more weight I lose, the more incentive I have to maintain a good diet. It's always a celebration when I drop a pants size or need a new hole in my belt! It has surpassed all my expectations and I feel great. It was an exciting day for me when one of my trainers casually told me I was looking lean. I know, it's hard to believe, but I can honestly say that I look forward to every single session because of the thoughtful encouragement I receive, the fabulous results I am getting; and it is just a fun place to go. My only regret has been why I did not find them sooner!
